The proposed   heliport in Mission Beach,    when operating, will create considerable loud noise from the industrial helicopters at irregular times seven days a week, during daylight. The proposed heliport is to be sited among known cassowary corridors (albeit fragmented).

Cassowaries are diurnal birds and walk considerable distances in search of food, so anything that disrupts their normal behaviour and movement may have a negative effect.

I do not wish for a greedy corporation to start any type of noisy and disruptive enterprise in our ecological area just to please shareholders who are out for nothing and care about nothing except the almighty dollar. Go back to your cities and leave us alone with our beautiful wildlife

Council wants to shoot itself in the foot; who is going to stay at Mission Beach for a holiday, or buy a home, in a place that sounds like an air base. Stupid, stupid, stupid. If it’s money they are after then this is a ludicrous way of getting it. They will lose in the long run! Has the Mayfair experience taught them nothing?????
